so. since starting optometry school i have been getting cankersores a lot. i hate them. they hurt me. i hate them. right now, i think i have THREE. my throat is realllllllllly sore bc i have one by my L tonsil, and then 1 on the side of my tongue (L side) and one on the bottom of my tongue (L side too). It makes me want to die. seriously. so i did some research. and found out that i am in the HIGHEST possible risk group to get cankersores. sucks to be me. - my dad gets cankersores often - if you have parents that are prone to getting them, you have a 90% chance of getting them too.
- i'm in my mid 20s - people in their teens-20s get them most often.
- i'm a woman - women are more prone to getting them.
- i'm constantly stressed out - stress can cause outbreaks.
- and (TMI?) i'm totally PMSing - outbreaks usually occur during the cycle.
The only 2 other factors that I don't think involve me are vitamin deficiency/food allergy (unless my recent lactose intolerance counts....) and trauma (unless using my electric tootbrush counts...) i tried gargling w saltwater last night, and all that did was dry my mouth out like crazy and give me this weird sensation on my tongue. probably dehydrated epithelial cells or something. i hear that choloroseptic throat spray and mouthwash are supposed to help. i have this good-for-nothing numbing gel that my dad gave me to use, but there's no way i'm going to numb my entire mouth and tongue. AND all the lightbulbs keep burning out in my room, so now i have to go buy some new ones - AND a new car license plate bulb bc i got pulled over for that. oh AND last night and this morning there were 2 cop cars (each time) pulling people over/arresting people or something all around my complex. i feel so safe. get me out of Fullerton. |
